Blocks in Bloom

We’re delighted to share that the Master Gardener program of Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Monroe County branch was recently recognized for excellence during the 2023 International Master Gardener Conference for their innovative Blocks in Bloom initiative! The conference was hosted by the Kansas State University Extension Master Gardeners of Johnson County, held in Overland Park, Kansas, June 18 – 22, 2023.

Blocks in Bloom also received the Zone III Civic Improvement Commendation from the Garden Club of America in 2021.

Rochester Garden Club has supported this project since its inception ten years ago. We have seen it grow and flourish, empowering those in underserved areas to create gardens and make their neighborhoods bloom. Congratulations to Kathy Lewis and her team of Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners for this award-winning program!

Rochester Garden Club Members supported EquiCenter’s The Mane Event 2019 by creating centerpieces for their Fundraiser.  We had fun reviewing design techniques while supporting a Not-for-Profit Organization in the Greater Rochester Community.  Thank you to all involved!
